Former Cincinnati Bearcat Baba Miller made his NBA Summer League debut Thursday night when the Los Angeles Clippers took on the Sacramento Kings at 11:00 p.m. on ESPN. This will be Miller's first game for the Clippers since being selected No. 36 overall in the NBA Draft. The game took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the Kings came in as a -3.5 favorite. The Kings selected Darius Acuff Jr. with the No. 7 overall pick and carried Sacramento to a 91-85 win.

Miller played 26 minutes in his debut, scoring 12 in total. He also grabbed 5 rebounds, had 2 blocks, 1 assist, and 3 turnovers. He made 3 of 4 shots from the field, 1 of 1 shots from three-point range, and 3 of 4 shots from the free-throw line. Miller was in the starting lineup along with Cam Christie, Keaton Wagler, Kobe Sanders, and Norchard Omier.

Miller's first points came from the free throw line, which the NBA is tinkering with this summer league for speed-of-the-game purposes. Miller was fouled on a two-point shot attempt, so he was given one free throw for the value of 2-points. Miller's first points and every point of the first half came from 2-point free-throw shots. He ended the first half playing 11 minutes, scoring 4 points, grabbing 2 rebounds, and blocking one shot. The Clippers trailed 44-41.

Miller came out in the second half and played 15 more minutes, starting on the court again for Los Angeles. He came out and scored 8 more points, including a corner three, another 2-point free throw, and an and-1. The Clipper might've lost, but Miller showed flashes of his rebounding, rim protecting and spacing ability all in a 6-foot-11 frame. Clippers fans should be excited by this debut.

Another former Bearcat, Viktor Lakhin, played for the Kings; he scored 0 points in 5 minutes off the bench. Long-time Cincinnati Bearcat foe Zach Freemantle plays for the Clippers as well; he scored 2 points in seven minutes.
