Former Cincinnati Bearcats forward Baba Miller was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 36th pick in the NBA Draft. Miller is the first Bearcat drafted since Jacob Evans III to the Golden State Warriors in 2018. Miller will be the first Bearcat in the NBA in quite some time. Players like Landers Nolley, Trevon Scott, Evans III, Gary Clark, Jaron Cumberland, couldn't quite catch their feet when it came to the NBA, but Miller, still developing with tons of upside, could turn into a player who helps elevate Cincinnati back into a premier basketball program.

Miller averaged 13.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, leading the Bearcats in all 3 categories, the first Bearcat to do so since Oscar Robertson. Miller is the first Wes Miller-era player to get the nod to the NBA. Now, with Jerrod Calhoun taking over, how long will it take for him to send a player to the NBA?

The Clippers are expected to hit the rebuild button after they held on to pick No. 5 and drafted Keaton Wagler from Illinois. The Clipper roster is more guard-heavy, featuring Darius Garland, Bradley Beal, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kris Dunn, and Benedict Mathurin. Outside of Wagler and Miller, the Clippers also drafted Nick Martinelli with the No. 55 pick and Narcisse Ngoy from France with the No. 57 pick.

Miller is likely to make the roster from a positional need standpoint or at least be there as a guy on a two-way contract with the San Diego Clippers. However, it will make the NBA a little better now that there are some Bearcats back in the league. The NBA Summer League starts July 3rd and runs until July 20th.
