The Cincinnati Bearcats were announced to be participating in the ESPN Events Invitational as part of Feast Week during the college basketball season in Thanksgiving season. Cincinnati was announced alongside Boston College, Georgia and UCF.
Cincinnati played both UCF and Georgia last season. They went 1-2 against the Knights, including an overtime loss in the Big 12 tournament, and lost to Georgia on a neutral site in Atlanta part of Holiday Hoopsgiving.
The last time the Bearcats played Boston College was on December 30th, 2004. The Eagles won 70-67, Boston College being a part of the Big East at the time, and Cincinnati a part of Conference USA. NBA standout Jared led the Eagles in scoring with 20 points, while Cincinnati's Jason Maxiell had 24 points and 10 rebounds.
As for this season, Georgia has the No. 49-ranked transfer-portal class, bringing in Freddie Dilione from Penn State and two others. UCF brought in 8 transfers, but has the No. 58-ranked class, headlined by Dior Johnson from Tarelton State. Boston College comes in at No. 64-ranked transfer portal class in Luke Murray's first season as head coach. The Eagles brought in 10 commits, their top recruit being Money Williams from Montana.
Cincinnati has the No. 25-ranked transfer portal class, bringing in 12 players. That's the No. 4 class in the Big 12, with UCF coming in at No. 12. The Georgia Bulldogs also come in at No. 12 in the SEC, while the Boston College Eagles finish at No. 14 in the ACC.
