Former Towson Foward Tyler Tejada has officially signed with the Cincinnati Bearcats and head coach Jerrod Calhoun after committing to them a couple of weeks ago. Tejada averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 points, and 2.3 rebounds on 43.2% shooting from field goal range last season, good enough for him to make the All-CAA Third Team. Last season, despite having worse numbers, Tejada was the CAA Player of the Year, making All-CAA First Team.
Tejada caught fire late in the season during the CAA Tournament, scoring 35 points against Hampton in the 2nd Round, 30 points against Charleston in the quarterfinals, and 29 points in an overtime loss to Hofstra in the Semifinals (who would go on to win the CAA).
This past season, Tejada's production has seen a huge increase in rebounding and passing. He averaged 3.3 rebounds in 2024-25 to 5.5 in 2025-26. He averaged 0.8 assists in 2024-25 to 2.3 assists in 2025-26. Tejada's three-point percentage has seen a dip from his first season at Towson, shooting 35.2% to now, two years later, shooting 29.1% from three-point range. Although his three-point percentage has dropped, his field goal percentage has only gotten better, 41.7% his freshman year to 43.2% this past season.
Tedjada was ranked the No. 35 Forward/Wing No. 166 overall transfer by 247 Sports, one spot ahead of former Bearcats guard Jizzle James, who followed Wes Miller to Charlotte. Both players were given a rating of 0.900 out of a perfect 1.000, with the best player in the portal being Flory Bidunga, who is going from Kansas to Louisville and has a rating of 0.9800.
