The NBA Draft Combine takes place May 10th through 17th in Chicago, Illinois, where 73 athletes from college, the G League, and overseas were invited. After a senior season where Baba Miller averaged 13.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game, he was named to the 2nd team All-Big 12 and the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. Miller is the first Bearcat to make an All-Big 12 team in the Bearcats' first three seasons in the Big 12, and the first player since Jacob Evans III to get invited to the combine, with the chance to be the first drafted since Evans III as well.
The Big 12 has 17 total players invited to the combine, with players like Darryn Peterson, AJ Dybantsa, Koa Peat, and Kingston Flemmings. Former Bearcats forward Dillon Mitchell, who spent last season at St. John's, averaging 8.3 points and 7.0 rebounds, also got an invite to the Combine.
The Cincinnati Bearcats have gone a long stretch without a player in the NBA. Trevon Scott signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets this past season, but it was only really a formality because of tanking. Tari Eason, a forward for the Houston Rockets, attended Cincinnati but transferred to LSU in 2021 after the firing and hiring of John Brannen and Wes Miller. Eason was then drafted 17th overall in 2022 by the Houston Rockets and has been their ever since. That's why Baba Miller making the NBA is such a big deal for this program as they try to make strides in the Big 12 and NCAA.
