Former Cincinnati Bearcats right-handed pitcher and outfielder Landyn Vidourek was traded to the Colorado Rockies from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday afternoon. The Dodgers had drafted Vidourek in the third round of the 2025 MLB Draft, No. 104 overall, just over a year ago on July 14th, 2025.
Vidourek will be joining his 2025 Cincinnati teammate, Jack Natili, in Colorado, who was just drafted by the Rockies No. 76 overall, 10 days ago. Vidourek was viewed as the No. 25 overall prospect in a crowded Dodgers farm system, playing for the Low-A Ontario Tower Buzzers. Vidourek was traded alongside Dodgers No. 15 prospect Nick Frasso, who played for the AAA Oklahoma City Comets. The two prospects were traded for Seth Halvorsen, who is one of the hardest-throwing relief pitchers in the MLB. His four-seam fastball sits around 99-102 miles per hour and can touch 103 mph. His slider is in the upper 80s to low 90s, with his splitter and changeup used rarely.
Since making his debut in August, 2024, Halvorsen has thrown 241 pitches of 100 mph or faster, with 194 of them coming in the 2025 season. He appeared in 42 games in 2025 before a season-ending elbow injury. He has bounced back this season, playing in 21 games and posting an ERA of 4.74, a WHIP of 1.95, and 17 strikeouts. He was recently placed on the 15-day injured list on July 4th and is expected to rehab in Oklahoma City for the Comets before making his Dodgers debut. With his injuries affecting him this season, his fastball still sits around 99-102 mph, which is why the Dodgers feel comfortable giving up two well-regarded prospects
