Former Cincinnati Bearcat Aziz Bandago will be playing for the Toronto Raptors this summer league

Former Bearcat Aziz Bandago will be suiting up for the Toronto Raptors this NBA Summer League, joining fellow Bearcat Jalen Celestine. The two never played together at Cincinnati, but are 1 of 2 teams to feature two former Bearcats, the other being the Boston Celtics, who have Day Day Thomas and Dillon Mitchell.

This is Bandago's first stint in the NBA Summer League. He did not play last year after going undrafted, but he started is international playing career overseas in Turkey. In 28 league games for Demir İnşaat Büyükçekmece of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL), one of Europe's stronger domestic leagues, Bandago averaged 7.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 18.4 minutes per game. Bandago continued to be efficient, shooting 61.7% from the field.

Back in July, Bandago was selected No. 2 overall by the Raptors 905 in the 2026 NBA G League International Draft and was added to the Summer League Roster shortly after. Bandago joins several notable names on Toronto's Summer League roster, including A.J. Lawson, Johnathan Mogbo, Collin Murray-Boyles, Jamal Shead, Chucky Hepburn, Alijah Martin, and Jamison Battle. The Raptors summer league kicks off against the Boston Celtics on July 10th, the Houston Rockets on July 11th, the Indiana Pacers on July 13th, and the Miami Heat on July 16th. All games are broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, or Prime Video.

In his two seasons at Cincinnati, the Dakar, Senegal Native averaged 7.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game, starting in 64 games across those years. Bandago's best game in a Bearcat uniform came on January 11th, 2024, against No. 12 BYU. The Bearcats would win their Big 12 opener and move to 12-2, behind 12 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Bandago also made his only three-point field goal of his Cincinnati career in this game.
