Multiple Bearcats mentioned on the East-West Bowl Top 1000 list

The Shriners Children's East-West Bowl 1000 was released earlier this morning, the top 1000 college football players ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft. Nine Cincinnati Bearcats were mentioned on the list that is linked here.

MJ Cannon (CB)

MJ Canon is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound cornerback who can also line up at the safety position in certain packages. He started his career at Illinois State in 2023-24 before transferring to Bowling Green for the 2025 season, where he caught eyes after a fantastic season. Canon started all 12 games for the Falcons last season, totalling 57 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 2 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, and 1 fumble recovery. Canon doesn't just thrive in one scheme, but all of them. He impacts the game in every facet.

Jonathan Thompson (LB)

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker, Jonathan Thompson, was a starting linebacker late in the season for the Bearcats in 2025 and now returns as a full-time starter. From St. Francis DeSales in Columbus, Ohio, Thompson has always talked about the importance of playing close to home.

Joe Cotton (OT)

Joe Cotton was one of three Cincinnati Bearcat offensive linemen mentioned on the list, that position being their strongest in 2026. He stands at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds and is going into his second season after transferring in from South Dakota. Cotton is going to be a huge part of the offenses success in 2025

Antwan Peek Jr. (LB)

Antwan Peek Jr. is one of the more interesting players named on the list. Peek Jr. was a safety last season for the Bearcats, but with new defensive coordinator Nate Woody coming over from Army, he feels that Peek Jr. will make more of an impact having an athlete of his caliber closer to the line of scrimmage and the football.

Evan Tengesdahl (OG), Taran Tyo (OG), Max Fletcher (P), Zylan Perry (RB), and Jasper Beeler (S) were the other Bearcats mentioned in the East-West Bowl Top 1000.
