Cincinnati Bearcats veteran duo John Newman III and DaVeon Thomas detailed an 81-77 win in overtime over the TCU Horned Frogs last night!
Newman posted 20 points and seven rebounds to help lead the Bearcats past TCU in a chaotic and thrilling finish inside of Fifth Third Arena.
"Games like this are always chaotic. A common message is for us to stay focused. We want to have focus and intention every possession."
Thomas totaled a team-high 21 points and six assists including the game-sealing free throws in the final seconds of overtime against TCU.
Cincinnati improved to 13-4 with a victory over TCU and will try to keep the momentum going against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday!
During a postgame press conference, Newman described the Bearcats home court advantage and looked ahead to playing Oklahoma next.
"I love our fans. They always show up for us and continue to so we just have to play a good brand of basketball and keep making them proud."
The Bearcats have a chance to pick up another quality win but Oklahoma's efficient offense is likely going to be a difficult unit to slow down.
