Despite falling just short, the Cincinnati Bearcats showed plenty of fight during a 74-69 loss to the Big 12 preseason favorite Kansas Jayhawks.

It appeared the Bearcats might get blown out in the opening half before fighting back and taking Kansas down to the wire in a quality outing.

There were several standout players including Cincinnati forward Daniel Skillings Jr finishing with a team-high 16 points and five rebounds.

With an opportunity to bounce back from two consecutive losses, the Bearcats host the rival UCF Knights on Saturday at Fifth Third Arena!

Cincinnati trailed by double figures early on but finished the first half on a pivotal 26-14 run and was knotted at 35-35 heading into halftime.

Kansas had a narrow lead for a majority of the second half but the Bearcats were able to stay within striking distance until the final seconds.

Wes Miller's team fell to 13-6 following the loss to Kansas but should be able to gain confidence as conference play continues on this weekend.
