Cincinnati Football: Cleveland Browns select Jowon Briggs in 2024 NFL Draft

Cincinnati product and Bearcats star defensive lineman Jowon Briggs was selected during the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit!

During his memorable career with the Bearcats, Briggs developed into a key part of the defense with 130 tackles and eight sacks in three years.

The Cincinnati native improved his draft stock after having an impressive performance at the inaugural Big 12 Conference Pro Day in March.

With an opportunity to continue his career at the highest level, Briggs is hoping to earn a spot on the Browns roster heading into his rookie year.

Briggs had the most reps on the bench press of any prospect competing at Big 12 Pro Day or in the NFL Combine throughout recent months.

Even though most former Bearcats are expected to sign undrafted free agent contracts, Cleveland drafted Briggs with the 243rd overall pick today!

The annual Hula Bowl gave Briggs a chance to showcase his next level potential and skillset in front of plenty of scouts prior to the NFL Draft.
