Cincinnati Bearcats new defensive coordinator Tyson Veidt should bring a lot of stability to the secondary after having success at Iowa State!

Iowa State was just the third team in conference history to be atop the Big 12 in passing, rushing, scoring and total defense in the 2022 campaign.

The Bearcats new defensive coordinator is set to return to his old stomping grounds during a matchup at Iowa State scheduled for next year.

Veidt is expected to run a 3-3-5 defense that will include three safeties and should put more of an emphasis on the secondary moving forward.

Cincinnati decided to hire Veidt because former defensive coordinator Bryan Brown accepted a job at his alma mater Ole Miss in recent weeks.

During eight years at Iowa State, Veidt helped the Cyclones develop into one of the Big 12's most consistent and dominant defensive units.

The Ohio native owns an extensive defensive background, coaching with Matt Campbell at Toledo before following him to Iowa State.

Veidt earned the Football Scoop's Linebackers Coach of the Year in 2017 and is expected to be a major addition to Scott Satterfield's staff!
