Cincinnati senior guard Mika Adams-Woods knocked down a triple to take a 3-2 lead before Temple immediately answered with back to back 3-pointers to regain an early advantage.
After a relatively slow start, David DeJulius scored nine consecutive points to put the Bearcats back in front as Wes Miller’s team eventually took a 37-34 lead into the locker room.
Daniel Skillings Jr. scored a game-high 10 points off the bench to help Cincinnati build a lead, while Jeremiah Davenport added six points on 2/2 shooting from 3-point range in the opening half.
