Cincinnati Football: 2024 NFL Draft could include multiple former Bearcats

Detroit is prepared to host the annual draft on April 25-27 and there are a handful of former Cincinnati standouts that could be drafted.

Even though most former Bearcats are expected to sign undrafted free agent contracts, there are a couple of players that could be drafted as well.

The highest-projected Cincinnati prospects from NFL Mock Draft Database are defensive lineman Jowon Briggs and wide receiver Dee Wiggins.

Cincinnati Football: 2024 NFL Draft could include multiple former Bearcats

Bearcats defensive end duo Daniel Grzesiak and Malik Vann are hoping to get drafted along with quarterback Emory Jones and safety Taj Ward.

Grzesiak displayed impressive potential during his lone season at Cincinnati and he should be on the radar for most teams prior to the draft.

Vann racked up 102 total tackles and 22.5 sacks during six seasons with his hometown Bearcats before declaring for the NFL Draft in November.

Ward became an integral part of the secondary last year, finishing with a career-high 55 tackles and two forced fumbles in his sixth season.

Cincinnati Football: Several former Bearcats are hoping to get drafted

During his memorable career with the Bearcats, Briggs developed into a key part of the defense with 130 tackles and eight sacks in three years.

Jones began his career with Florida and played at Arizona State before joining the Bearcats last season and eventually earning the starting job.

The Georgia native isn’t projected to be picked in the upcoming draft but Jones will have a chance to impress scouts at Big 12 Pro Day in March.

Wiggins spent just one year at Cincinnati and went onto finish with 246 receiving yards and and two touchdowns in his senior campaign.
