This Cincinnati Bearcats forward is already showing up on NBA Draft boards

Cincinnati Bearcats forward Adlan Elamin, who followed Jerrod Calhoun from Utah State, has been gaining some NBA Draft buzz this week. No Ceilings, an NBA Draft publication, listed Elamin as a "Certified Sicko Prospect". Ben Pfeifer, a basketball writer for Essentially Sports, The Sporting News, and Swish Theory, listed Elamin in his top 40 recruits for the 2027 NBA Draft.

Elamin is entering his sophomore season. Last year as a freshman at Utah State, he averaged 6.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.9 assists on 44.4% shooting from the field and 30.2% from three-point range. He also added 0.5 blocks per game and 0.7 steals per game. In the Bearcats' recent trip to the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League, Adlan played well, having 14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal against Victoria in the Bearcats first game. He shot 5-10 from the field and 4-6 from three-point range. Elamin had a team-high +/- of +35. Against Calgary the very next day, Elamin played 20 minutes, finishing with 10 points on 4 of 8 from the field and 2-4 from three. He added 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, doing more creating in this game than he did in the one prior.

Elamin had always had an exciting player archetype, rated a 3-star prospect and the No. 9 prospect in Virginia coming out of high school. He was ranked as the No. 36 power forward and the No. 201 player in the high school class of 2025. As a transfer, Elamin was the No. 33 power forward and the No. 147 player in the portal, already improving upon his original trajectory.
